Other things you can do to positively influence your mental and emotional well-being are to grow intellectually by taking a class, learning a new hobby, building or creating something, or even teaching others. Volunteering is another great way to improve on your personal well being.

By making these changes, you begin affecting how you feel about yourself. Once embarking on this journey you’ll find a new self-confidence not build on ego and not severely encumbered by pride. And when you think about it, is self-confidence not a feature you find attractive in others???

Can you see it? The phone rings. It’s him…or her. You’re so excited to talk to him or her. You get on the phone. The voice is kind, and you start talking just like he’s right there. Saying goodbye to the one you love is one of the most painful experiences you can go through. In fact, sometimes it seems like the hurt will never end. It's not a good feeling and certainly not one I would wish on anybody.

Don't leave her guessing whether you do or don't by not showing any affection at all. I've been hanging here on the couch together with my girl, Mandy, crying together with laughing both at the same time. In fact we're both being so goofy and o giddy, it really is a riot. Then I almost pee on myself when we get to laughing so hard. Oh No! Here I go starting to giggle again. Wait for a second. As soon as I stop laughing I can tell you about it all....Okay, I'm good now.

After that I was just a wreck. It seemed that all I was doing was crying every moment of the day. My mind was distracted and I couldn't think. I found when I did think, it was only about my ex. If you've ever had a broken heart then you know what I’m saying huh?

After just a few days into the saddest event of my life, it hit me! It was like a charge from a white hot lightning bolt piercing through the sky and hitting me. You know, I love this guy. I really, really love him and spending the rest of my life with him was what I really wanted. That's when the initial question popped into my head about, "How do I get him back?"

I tried a borage texting and calling to no avail. All he did was ignore me. I even followed him like some kind of mad stalker...although it seemed perfectly sane at the time. Then I hit my lowest when I went to his place and nearly begged him to take me back. I was almost even on my knees. Jacob was very kind and gentle while he tried to explained what he was going through. But then he asked me to leave and that’s when I lost it. I blew my top and then I left.

When I got home I immediately phoned Mandy, literally being unable to talk and bawling my eyes out again. Thank God she rushed over not only to offer comfort but also give some much needed advice.

Jealousy in Relationships – Deal with Jealousy in Order to Fix a Failing Relationship and Even Maintain a Healthy One

Are you a jealous person? I’m going to be honest with you. I definitely am. Truth be told, I think we all have been at some point. In fact I believe that jealousy in relationships is a simple fact of life. The question is…how extreme does it get for you? Can you control it or do your jealous fits control you and affect your relationship?

When my boyfriend and I broke up, I did all the wrong things in my attempts to get him back. Getting jealous and acting on that jealousy was one of those wrong things.

Fortunately after taking some time and doing some self-reflection, I learned all about what jealousy is and what causes it. After that I was able to work through those issues to help bring my boyfriend back and now have a healthy relationship with him.

Please allow me to share with you some of what I’ve learned to help you avoid making the mistakes I did.

First, much of jealousy stems from fear. It’s based on the thought someone else has the advantage, that you’ll lose a possession, that there is not enough of something to go around, or that you may get cheated on. The examples of these descriptions are when your mate is looking at someone else you might think to be better than you, that your lover, or the love and attention that has been given to you will be taken away, that time spent with the guys or girls will reduce the amount of time you get with your partner, and the obvious one is that you’ll be cheated on.

When we can rationalize what the foundation of jealousy is, it helps us to start tackling the issues that bring about the jealousy in the first place. The biggest issue that I have learned is that jealousy starts when my self esteem is at its lowest. When I don’t feel like I’m good enough for someone to love or that I’m not pretty enough. When I doubt or reject myself in that manner then all I’m left with is fear that my partner won’t want to have anything to do with me. He’ll want someone better, he’ll want to spend time with that person or people other than me, he’ll cheat on me, and eventually I’ll lose him.

I had to reject that self rejection. I had to start believing in myself and believe I am worth someone’s time and attention. I needed to understand that there are millions of beautiful people in the world and I am one of them. Plus, I have a heck of a lot to offer.

When I accepted this truth, that’s when things started to change. I didn’t feel like I was competing with anyone for his time or attention. I knew that there was plenty of time and attention to go around and by having a special place in his heart; I would get my share and more. It was worth it to him to be with me and yet, if he chose not to be, then there was most definitely someone else who would like the chance.

Actually with my new found confidence, being secure in me and my abilities allowed me to see things much more clearly and I found that the things that bothered me before didn’t have the same effect now. And knowing that I’ve dealt with these struggles, I’ve also learned to recognize when the green-eyed monster wants to take over. That’s when I take a breath and sort through what’s happening before simply flying of the handle. As you can imagine, this can make life much easier and our relationship is definitely much better off for it.

And here is where I have to ask you if you’re dealing with jealousy in relationships. If so, maybe it’s time to take a look inside and find out what’s driving the jealousy. Are you okay with you? What are you afraid of?

Start asking some of these questions. Get to the real issues and start working on those. When you can come to an understanding of the cause of jealousy, work through that cause, and even solve some of the problems, that will go a long way in fixing a failing relationship and helping to maintain a healthy one

Sam was a dumped boyfriend. His girlfriend Keri had been unable to attend a party with him, but he wanted to go anyway. He ended up making out with some random girl and of course, one of Keri’s friends couldn’t wait to tell her the news.

Keri called Sam that night and told him that she never wanted to see him again. She called him a number of unprintable names as well.

This advice was offered by a friend of mine - Not that I necessarily agree with all of her comments…but I believe that she may have a few valid points. Hopefully some of the information will be of help to you.

When making up with my boyfriend I tried to remember these tips that my older and wiser friend had given me. My ex and I got back together so I hope they work for you too.

1) Men don't like chit chat: Generally speaking men don’t like to talk in depth about their feelings and forcing the issue will just cause them to clam up even more. So when you are trying to get back together don’t force him to analyze what went wrong. If he behaved badly but is willing to apologize, accept it and move on.

2) Men can only concentrate on one thing at a time. This is really true so don’t try and fight it. Very few men can multi-task. Their genetics are to blame for this so shouting at him is pointless. The sooner you accept that your man cannot listen to you while reading his newspaper or watching TV the better. Most of the time, he is not ignoring you on purpose. The more you try to understand that this is the way he is programmed the fewer number of arguments you will have.

3) Men like toys. The joke is that men never grow up and show it by still playing with toys. Most men love to build things and start DIY jobs. Not all of them like to finish these jobs which can cause problems at home. Let your man indulge his hobbies, within reason. You can spend time with your girlfriends while he is fishing or building a boat. By compromising like this, he will probably be much more willing to spend time with you doing things together that you both enjoy.

4) Don’t assume that your man knows that you want to make up with him. Men in general tend to be a bit slow in picking up signals especially about relationships. For this reason, you sometimes need to be very direct and tell them exactly how you feel. Men don't like games unless they understand the rules like in golf or chess. Women, well we have a tendency to change the rules on dating more often than men change their shirts so we need to give them a break if they get a little confused.

I always tell my male friends that they need to make a list before they break up with their girlfriends. On one side of the list, you put her good points. Do you find her interesting? Does she look after you? Does she cook for you? Does she laugh at your jokes? Are you attracted to her? On the other side of the list, they can put the things that wind them up.

Now think about the things that drive you nuts. Ok she may nag at little too much but then if you put the toilet seat down she might stop. She may not want more than a cuddle every evening but five times a week doesn't mean that she isn't caring enough. Get the picture?

Eventually, after a few months he started seeing something different in me. I was gaining my self confidence again, (by the way, a very attractive feature in anyone), and he was noticing. And although it was a little different this time, the air of mystery had returned. Plus, I was sporting a newly transformed body, mentality, and demeanor. And the combination of these things got him interested once again…so much so that we started seeing each other again.

To shorten and already long story, today we are back together in a much stronger, healthier, and happier relationship. I for one couldn’t be happier and I know I am a better person for all that this has taught me, better for us but mostly better for me.

My Story of How I Got Back Together With My Ex

So after getting the new book, it became my prized possession. I must have read it 10 times in order to get everything down right.

I was able to see that in all my attempts to do everything right to get back together with my ex...I was actually doing everything WRONG!!! Time and space was necessary. Enough to let him know I wasn't and obsessed nut case and only so much to allow me to grow, make some changes, and let him see a new me.

Interestingly enough, I learned that finding a new me was important too. In fact, finding a new me, improving on who I was ended up being more important than showing off the new boyfriend to my ex. Ultimately, it was that new me that helped me get back together with my ex.

Even still it took more than improving on me. It took a lot of other things combined with my own personal changes to win back his love.

Again, to keep a long story short, (and I could go on and on because when you get back together with your ex, there is so much happiness you can't help but want to talk about it constantly), after about 18 months, my ex and I are back together. I can't stop smiling. Not to mention, our relationship is better than ever thanks to what I've learned about me...thanks to what I've learned from The Magic of Making Up.

To think, just over a year ago my world had come crashing down and I thought that I would never be with the man I love, ever again. And now, not only was I able to get back together with my ex, we are happier than ever.

This dream come trus is something I would wish for everyone.

Get Back Together With My Ex - My Story Continued...

For awhile I was lost. Although I really wanted him back, I really had no idea about how to get I could. And...although he broke up with me, he kept calling which told me that I still meant something. Still, with no answers about how to proceed for us to be together again.

Of course during this time while I stayed at home to wallow in my own self pity, he was out trying to find love..."in all the wrong places". Meaning, everywhere I was not. And when I heard he was interested in someone else and started seeing someone new...that's when I made my biggest mistake. I broke his trust.

I started talking to his best friend about him trying to find some solace in the fact that he had found somebody new. I saw the look on my ex's face when my he learned we had been talking about him. I won't ever forget it because I knew I had hurt him by breaking the trust and faith he had in me...even as a friend. And I knew he was mad. That just made my chances as getting back together with him, non-existent.

The communication with him had all but stopped. And I knew that I had messed up pretty bad. My hopes had been squashed at ever getting back together. But then I did some research. Even amongst the smallest of hopes, I was still trying to find a way to make amends and get my ex back.

That's when I found a book that would be the answer to prayer. To be continued...

I wanted to share with you my story of how I was able to get back together with my ex. I hope that it will give you some inspiration and hope for your situation.

(So I don't bore you with details, here is the abbreviated version.)

I met him a few years back under some bizarre circumstances. He was seeing someone I knew, they were having problems, broke up, and somewhere along the line I came into the picture. I didn't ever plan on anything happening but it did.

We were together for several months and although we share good times when we were together, we weren't really going anywhere. And the person he thought I was got lost in the comfort of the relationship. (That seemed to be a habit of mine. My independance always seemed to disappear when I got involved with another person and I ended up getting wrapped up in them.)

Eventually, as in the previous relationships, I sensed something was wrong so I did the usual. By a really nice gift and drop the "L" word. Of course that worked...for a couple days and then I got the "Dear Jo" call. Of course not the one I wanted to hear.

Left broken hearted again but this one. Well, this one was different. I really found something special in this one. And I couldn't believe it was over. I was heart broken. To be continued...

Our natural tendancy seems to be to hold on tighter and tighter with no loosening of the grip what-so-ever.

The other day as I was leaving a restaurant parking lot, I drove by a couple who were obviously arguing. As I got closer I could read her lips as she said let go of me and saw he was holding onto her arm very tight. My thought at the moment was this not how to get back to get with your ex if you are separated. As I pulled up I rolled my window down to make sure everything was okay, to which the man responded, "Mind your own business, this is my wife." And suddenly I saw strike number two. My guess is one more strike and then he is out with no chance to get back together with his mate.

See one of the things that has to happen if you want to get with an ex back, is that you have to be willing to let go in the first place. Unfortunately, our natural tendency is to hang on tighter and tighter. And the more they try to get away, the more we try to hang on. The problem is that one action forces the other action and the whole exchange itself lends to keeping couples apart. It doesn't help them to get back together.

If you want to get back together with your ex you have to go against the norm. You need to think outside of the box. Here is one way to do this. If your mate wants to break-up with you, agree to the separation. Tell him or her that you think they are right and you've been wanting some time for yourself anyway.

Now right off the bat I know that sounds wacky but think about it for a moment. What do you think is going through the other person's mind? Do you think they are jumping for joy and shouting to the roof tops? C'mon, you know that's not the case because if a real desire to end the relationship existed, it would have happened long before with many tall tale signs to show it. No, what you just did was catch them off guard, capture their attention, and have them not just stop dead in their tracks but take a step back in the process. At this moment, you just had them question their decision to break up with you.

Okay, now don't go and think that this is the end of the game plan, that he or she will just automatically jump back in your arms or drop to their knees asking for you to take them back. That won't happen...okay, maybe in a 1 in 50,000 shot it might but for the most part all you did was bait the hook. That's a good thing. Now play with the fish for a while and let's wait till they bite.

See from here, you get to do some alone time again and truthfully, we all NEED alone time. This helps to remind us who we are, keep us on track, and make sure we are taking care of ourselves. So with this time, hang out with friends, take up the hobby you've always wanted, learn something new, get to the gym if you don't already. Work on having fun and improving you. (That should happen no matter whether you're single or in a relationship anyway.)

Eventually at some point you and your ex will meet again either hanging out with friends, run into each other at a restaurant, or he or she might even give you a call to get together. (It usually happens in 2 to 4 weeks). This is when you play it cool. Let the new improved you shine. That will definitely capture your ex's attention and most likely several other's attention as well. Plus, that is another step in how you get back together with your ex.

Several other events will happen to bring your ex back into your life for one reason or another. Be sure to always play it cool in every one of those occasions. Be sure to continue working on yourself, to have fun, learn and grow.

A time will come when you'll find that hey you really want to be with that person and the other person will find they want to be with you. Or quite possibly, they person wasn't meant for you in the first place. But the good news is now you can get back together with your ex if you want to...or not. This time the option is yours.
